Happy Friday, y’all! What a weird week here in Iowa. 70-degree weather on Wednesday and snow today? Life doesn’t get boring in the Midwest!
For a few weeks now I’ve been sharing TGIF posts. If you’re new, I’ll break it down for you:
- T – Truth: Tell me something you learned about yourself this week.
- G – Growth: Describe one way in which you grew this week, whether it’s in the direction of a goal or something unexpected.
- I – Inspiration: List one thing that inspired you this week.
- F – Fun: Talk about what you did to have FUN this week!
These posts are all about you! I want to hear about what happened in your week. What “aha” moments did you have, and what did you do to have fun? I’ll get the discussion started by sharing my TGIF from the week:
Sometimes, I’m still scared to hit Publish on this blog. After 6 years of blogging, I don’t often have that fear anymore of sharing vulnerable posts. But this one scared me a bit.
I held my first 1-on-1 consultation for essential oils, and I didn’t break down crying in fear. WIN! I also submitted my new short story to my Des Moines Writers’ Workshop critique group, one step at a time toward my short story collection.
I started an audiobook by Jhumpa Lahiri called In Other Words. This is a nonfiction account of the Pulitzer Prize winner’s emotional and challenging quest to learn Italian, a language she has an obsession for. This book inspires me as a writer, because Lahiri explores her self-reflection and brings these beautiful, insightful thoughts to the surface. It really gets my thoughts brewing and makes me want to write anything and everything!
How can I not have fun when the weather is 70 degrees in February! There was a lot of fun built into my week. Mom and I had a fun weekend together attending the doTERRA Wellness Summit (aka, further feeding our oil obsessions), and Kyle and I had Sunday Funday with a couple beers at a rooftop bar. I’d be lying if I said we weren’t reading each other’s articles with red pens in our hands…but hey, everyone has their own idea of fun 😉 I also had a few surprise visits with friends and from family, thanks to my godmother being in town! Fun = Check!
Alright, your turn! Leave a comment with your TGIF!!
